When Gru lets the world's most-wanted villain, Balthazar Bratt, slip through his fingers, he is fired from the Anti-Villain League and suffers an identity crisis. But then a mysterious stranger appears to inform Gru that he has a long-lost twin brother who is desperate to follow in his villainous footsteps. This gives Gru the chance to remember what it felt like to be bad.
