If Beale Street Could Talk - DVD

A timeless and moving story of unbreakable love.

Nineteen-year-old Tish and her fiancé Fonny have been friends since childhood. But their dreams of a future together are shattered when Fonny is arrested and falsely accused of a crime he did not commit.

This intense love story about the unbreakable bond of a couple who must fight hard for their happiness is set in the early 1970s in Harlem. The intimate and poetic visuals transcend the period setting, which is shaped by racism, to show the irrepressible power of love, friendship, and family ties.
