The hero of the comedy I'm Flying, Ryan Bingham (George Clooney), is a happy man. With his head in the clouds, he is unwaveringly heading for the fulfillment of his life's dream, but life can be a bitch. And she can say, even in the home straight: "Boy, you're running on the wrong track. " Director Jason Reitman has a soft spot for anti-heroes, whether it's a tobacco lobbyist (Thank You for Smoking) or a pregnant teenager (Juno). This time he looked into a 100% selfish man, so irresistibly that he created one of the best films of the past year. Ryan Bingham's life goal will probably seem ridiculous to most of you. He would like to fly 10 million air miles and thus enter the elite company of a select few. The likelihood of accomplishing this "mission impossible" is very high because Ryan practically lives on the plane. As an employee of the company, which deals with enterprise optimization (translated it means, that these are professional bouncers), continuously flying around the United States and downsizing companies, whose bosses don't have the guts to do it, to release their people themselves. The nomadic life suits Ryan perfectly. His own apartment is less cozy than any hotel room, his family has long since stopped counting on him, and everything he owns fits into a single suitcase, which of course must meet the criteria for carry-on luggage. In addition, you can meet quite interesting people at the airports, such as a casual fellow passenger of a similar ilk (Vera Farmiga), willing to have a relationship "if the flight schedules allow it". But no tree grows to the sky, and Ryan's threat comes in the form of a young, ambitious colleague (Anna Kendrick) who has devised an online redundancy scheme to save money. That would mean Ryan would come back down from heaven to earth and lose everything that mattered to him. Faced with this most unpleasant truth, he begins to wonder a little if the meaning of life might eventually be found on earth.
