Famed Czech explorers H+Z dedicated a large part of their second journey to exploring Ceylon and Indonesia – spending more than a year and a half there. The expedition, consisting of 2 Tatra 805 trucks and a four-man crew – engineers Hanzelka and Zikmund, driver Miroslav Dryák and doctor Josef Korynta – arrived in Colombo, Ceylon on 10th June 1961 and left Indonesia on 16th February 1963. During that time, they travelled through all of Ceylon, the islands of Sumatra, Java, and Bali; shot 37 short films, took over ten thousand photographs, and wrote several dozen radio and newspaper reports about what they saw, experienced, and who they met. And their adventures were far from ordinary – from visiting the Ceylonese prime minister and attending various religious ceremonies, to meeting cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, and filming with headhunters on the island of Nias.
