In the Shadows - DVD

In the former Czechoslovakia of the 1950s, a thrilling crime story unfolds, which ultimately affects the personal fates of the actors and their loved ones.

Captain Hakl (Ivan Trojan) investigates a theft in a jewellery shop. However, due to the backstage intrigues of the secret police, the ordinary burglary is turning into a political case. Major Zenke (Sebastian Koch), a police specialist from the GDR, takes over Hakl's investigation under the orders of the State Security Service, under whose guidance the investigation takes a different direction than Hakl's instinct as an experienced criminalist suggests.
He continues to investigate on his own. Can a single righteous man stand against a well-connected network of communist police? The opponent is strong and Hakl soon becomes convinced that no one and nothing can be trusted. Everyone has a shadow of the past, a weak spot that can turn victims into culprits and culprits into heroes.
