Information systems in enterprises

The book introduces the reader to the theory and practice of designing information systems in enterprises. We also have the opportunity to learn about project management and teamwork issues, the roles of individual groups and project team members, and recommended work practices. We will also delve into some of the specifics of designing and implementing information systems, both on the customer and supplier side. The author is the first in the Czech environment to introduce the reader to the issue of modelling value chains using business patterns in the company as a basis for further design of information system and process modelling. In the chapter devoted to the management of information systems projects, the author presents an original methodology for a balanced evaluation of potential suppliers' offers. In the economic evaluation of project options section, it provides examples of the use of real options as a complement to conventional economic indicators. The author's arguments and recommendations are illustrated by a number of case studies.
