Karel Čapek: Detective stories

Chesterton gave detective fiction a Father Brown, Doyle a Sherlock Holmes, Emil Vachek a Detective Club and Karel Čapek? Dr. Mejzlik, of course! Čapek was fascinated by the detective genre and his stories full of brisk original plots and gentle humour are among the gems of modern Czech literature. Stories selected mainly from Čapek's books Tales from One Pocket and Tales from the Other Pocket from 1929 will be performed by actors Karel Höger, Miloš Kopecký, Vlastimil Brodský and Martin Růžek. So let us move with the author to situations where human reason is short, as is human justice, and people behave unexpectedly, sometimes with remarkable obstinacy.
