Karel Vlach Orchestra: 1957-1960 (14x CD) - CD

The third instalment of the Karel Vlach Orchestra. This time, across 14 discs, it maps all available recordings from 1957–1960. The box set thus delivers 320 original recordings, digitised from magnetic tapes, gramophone records, and film tapes.

Sensitive mastering offers listeners a unique listening experience. Once again, several dozen recordings are being released on a music carrier for the very first time (e.g., Den, co den se ptám with Yvetta Simonová, Kdo to tu hvízdá with Milan Chladil, Pane Váhavý performed by Gabriela Hermelyová, Ráno v Mariánských Lázních, or songs from the film Hvězda jede na jih).

The accompanying text in the twenty-four-page booklet provides interesting facts and details about the creation of certain compositions, placed within a broader historical context, and describes some lesser-known facts. There is also a wealth of period photographs from private archives.
