Khoiba: Khoiba - CD
The album Khoiba is a deep immersion into the common world of Emma Brabcová and Filip Míšek. It can evoke feelings of duality, it is exposed and covered, brutal and gentle, upsetting and soothing, contains hope and hopelessness, is full of distance and connection, nooks and layers, into which it can fit. “ We made such a ' uncombed cephalopod, ' “ says Khoiba.
The album balances “on the edge“ of several genres. It doesn' t matter what electronic music ingredients Khoiba works with. It is essential for Khoibu to take away the feeling, even if you do not feel comfortable with it. You run the risk of touching something really sensitive.
The texts describe loneliness and separation: “ Where is he? Embossed in Ed' s cold heligon, all alone in her world. But he knows how to play. ” (Snack) “ Stuck inside, endlessly in disguise and waiting with cold hope for another life. ” (STF)
The key is openness to one' s own emotions. “ Go down under those eight outstretched legs, give up your fear and light a fire around you ,“ Ema says in a text about working on herself. (Onion Skin) But sometimes this “job“ can take you to places you didn' t want to go: “ I went to light myself down in the basement, but I fell, so calm me down and don' t want me to reflect on it. ” (In A Loft)
Filip Míšek and Ema Brabcová first met in the group Roe-Deer, which was formed in the summer of 1999. They recorded the albums Everforever (2001) and Aquaparty (2003). Already during Roe-Deer' s existence, they began to create their own project - Khoibu. Khoiba described her work as “atmospheric pop full of melancholy and positive emotions“.
