Klánský Ivan: Prague Philharmonia Wind Quintet - CD

Performed by the excellent Prague Philharmonia Wind Quintet and Ivan Klánský, this CD presents three charming works for winds and piano - the album opens with the Quintet for Piano and Winds W. A. Mozart, whose work can to some extent be considered as a musical starting point for the neoclassical works of the authors of the two following twentieth-century works - the sonically precisely constructed and auditorily rewarding Sextuor by F. Poulenc and the colourful, jazz-inspired Sextet for wind instruments and piano by B. Martinů.

W. A. Mozart (1756-1791): Quintet in E flat major for piano and wind instruments, KV 452
Francis Poulenc (1899-1963): Sextuor, FP 100
Bohuslav Martinů (1890-1959): Sextet for wind instruments and piano, H 174
