KlaPeto Endowment Fund

KlaPeto Endowment Fund
It all started in 2011, when handicapped athlete Jaroslav Petrouš underwent voluntary amputation of his left leg due to unbearable pain. Thanks to this, Jaroslav “returned to good health“ and decided to help others. Specifically for severely disabled children. The friendly hecu - going out less than two years after an above-knee amputation to the highest Czech mountain for little Simonka - has become a traditional charity event that attracts thousands of people a year. Healthy and handicapped. The first two years of climbing Sněžka took place with The Road to a Dream, but Jaroslav wanted his own organization, where one hundred percent of the money raised would go to help children. And so KlaPeto was created. The name is a compound of two names - Klasnová and Petrouš. The endowment fund, together with Jaroslav, was founded by Kateřina Klasnová, the former vice-president of the Chamber of Deputies, who spent years on charity and met Jaroslav in the Chamber of Deputies while fighting for the rights of the severely disabled. She was thrilled by the idea of helping through her own organization. She went with Jaroslav for Simonka and Péťa, and in 2015 they were already organizing an ascent for Vojtíšek. This was followed by Lilienka, Pavlínka, Matýsek, Evča and Fíla.
The endowment fund also deals with:
- Contributing to the improvement of the position of disabled people in the Czech Republic - Removing mental and legislative barriers to the inclusion of the socially and medically disadvantaged in life
- Support for activities and sports for the disabled - life does not end with disabilities - Support for counseling services for the disabled
