Kočko Tomáš & Orchestra: Velesu - CD

On the album Velesu, Tomáš Kočko invokes the pagan god and turns to the lord of the underworld, the guardian of order and time. The nine original compositions offer both contemplative songs and upbeat, fiery tracks. With his excellent producer's touch, Tomáš Kočko has once again managed to connect songs inspired by folklore motifs with layered multi-part harmonies, while also incorporating rock guitars and techniques.

On Velesu, echoes of ancient Slavic cults resonate, and from the very nature of the chosen theme, it is clear that the album is not a carefree, lively celebration. On Velesu, Tomáš Kočko approaches a darker interpretation of his compositions, distantly referencing the Godula recording as well. Here too, he makes no secret of his positive relationship with heavier music genres. However, one should not expect him to fundamentally change his original style. The musical side of the album remains a typical Kočko mix of trance-like and contemplative rhythms inspired by traditional folk music, as well as metal or folk.
