Kollar David: Sculpting in Time - CD

David Kollar and his solo album “Sculpting in Time“ - an extraordinary guitarist composing / kneading extraordinary music with exceptional teammates: Erik Truffaz and Arve Henriksen (trumpets), Christian Fennesz (guitar & electronics), Pat Mastelott (drummer King Crimson, this time even reading Pasternak' s poem. ).
This musical work is primarily inspired by the poetics of the legendary film director Andrei Tarkovsky on many explicit and implicit levels: whereas Kollar' s inclination towards his films (mainly Stalker and The Mirror) is neither accidental nor fashionable, but significant. It is connected with the inner energy of nostalgia, desire and the search for a deeper meaning of our unpredictable lives. His introspective musical compositions are an expression of questioning our most hidden, burning existential tensions. Sometimes they sound conciliatory, at other times disturbingly, they will gradually take you deep inside, where you may find something forgotten, but important which will eventually cause you to have an unusual catharsis.
