Kubisova Marta: Putovani (1966-2017) - CD

The 30th anniversary of the “Velvet Revolution” is a compelling reason to release an album of collected recordings by Marta Kubišová.
The communist regime banned her artistic activities at the beginning of 1970, and thanks to the events of November 1989, she was able to return to the stage and recording studios.

The songs from 1966–2017 capture the singer in various moods. It represents her symbolic JOURNEY through life and musical genres.
It also features several languages. Besides Czech, she sings in English, French, Hebrew, and German.
Most of the recordings on this compilation CD are being released for the very first time.

This album is by no means a greatest hits collection; many of those have already been released. It presents this unique singer in a somewhat darker light, mainly thanks to the lyrics of Jan Schneider, Pavel Vrba, Petr Rada, Xavier Baumaxa, Zdeněk Svěrák, Jan Burian, and, surprisingly, even Václav Havel and others.
Songs of this type suit Marta Kubišová best. The power of her performance suggestively draws the listener into the stories being told.
