Lead Vest SE - Blu-ray

Kubrick's brilliant saga of the Vietnam War and the dehumanizing process that turns people into trained killers. Great cast: The Joker (Matthew Modine) Animal Mother (Adam Baldwin), Gomer (Vincent D'Onoforio), Eightball (Dorian Harewood), Cowboy (Arliss Howard) and others are thrown into the hell of a training camp ruthlessly ruled by the rowdy D. I. (Lee Ermey), who sees these potential messengers of evil as sissies, pimps, or something less. "Lee, I want it to look real," Kubrick told Ermey at the start of filming. "I wouldn't have played you otherwise," replied this former Marine sergeant. The action is brutal, the story fierce, and the dialogue packed with biting humour. From the rawness of the training camp to the horrors of combat in Hue, The Lead Vest is a huge directorial achievement.
