Lefevre Alain: Paris Memories - CD

Lefevre Alain: Paris Memories - CD
The second "Parisian" album by Canadian pianist Alain Lefevre, again dedicated exclusively to French composers. Lefevre spent his student years at the Paris Conservatoire and his composition teacher was none other than Pierre Max Dubois (1930-1995), a pupil of the famous Dario Milhaud. Lefevre must have made a great impression on his mentor even then, because he dedicated his four-movement piano sonata from 1984 to him. Coincidentally, this album is only Lefevre's first opportunity to record the work of his respected teacher. The work is accompanied by Prelude, Fugue and Variations Op. 18 by César Franck, originally composed for organ and dedicated to Camille Saint-Saëns, as well as several smaller works by Claude Debussy.
