Life of Pi - DVD

Life of Pi - DVD
The main character, Pi, grew up in an Indian zoo founded by his father. He might have taken over the exotic family business, but the family decided to move to cold Canada, taking some of the animals with them to sell for an easier start in their new country. However, the forces of nature had other plans, and during one stormy night, the cargo ship carrying Pi, his parents, and his brother sank. By a stroke of luck, the boy found himself in a lifeboat, the sole reminder of the disaster floating in the middle of the ocean. He wasn't the only survivor, though; his fellow passengers were an injured zebra, a hyena, a female orangutan, and Richard Parker. Richard Parker was not another human survivor, but a formidable Bengal tiger who saw no reason why the natural food chain should be altered by their emergency situation. Thus began an incredible voyage, during which the boy had to become a man to stand up to one of the planet's greatest predators and survive the perilous journey to land.
