Lost in Munich - DVD

Lost in Munich - DVD
Sir "P", a ninety-year-old grey parrot who once belonged to Édouard Daladier, finds himself in Prague in 2008 as a living relic from the time of the Munich Agreement, invited by the director of the French Cultural Institute. To this day, Sir "P" still repeats some of Daladier's important sentences and statements in his voice. Under dramatic circumstances, the parrot is abducted by a Czech journalist, Pavel, who uses the parrot's controversial Daladier quotes to ignite an international political scandal.
This film by director Petr Zelenka portrays the unsuccessful shooting of a fictional film as an allegory for the Munich Crisis. The screenplay was inspired by both the controversial essay 'The Munich Complex' by historian Jan Tesař and the documentary 'Lost in La Mancha' about Terry Gilliam's failed film production.
