Martin Šonka: My Flight to Heaven

The inspiring story of aerobatic pilot Martin Šonka, who became the 2018 World Champion of the respected Air Race series

But his journey to the absolute top of the world also shows how it pays to dream, because even seemingly unrealistic desires can - if you work hard and go for them - be fulfilled one day. An ordinary boy from Sezimovo Ústí, as he likes to call himself, has made a name for himself in an industry in which money often decides. Despite the fact that his mother was a single mother, he and his brother slept in a broom truck, and the Czech Republic is not an attractive location for big sponsors, he grew up to be an elite world pilot. And the anonymous man became a respected sports personality in the country. The confessions of the father of three are complemented by interviews with his closest friends and his great rivals.
