Misik Vladimir, ETC.: ETC.3 - CD
The third part of a successful reissue journey through the excellent albums of Vladimir Misik and ETC.
The year 1987, the conditions are relaxing, Misik is allowed to sing again and the band ETC. is in another interesting phase of development. Apart from the frontman, the violinist Jan Hrubý, cellist Jaroslav Nejezchleba, keyboardist Petr Skoumal, guitarist Stanislav Hrubes, bassist Vladimír Kulhánek and drummer Pavel Skala were integral parts of its quality and success. Four of them have contributed to the album, Jiří Dědeček and Pavel Šrut have added new lyrics, but there are also Josef Kainar and Václav Hraběte. The sound has been inspired by modern conveniences from the initial semi-acoustic rockfolk, so we hear a greater proportion of synthesizers and various effects without damaging the essence, namely the essentially Czech songwriting. From the original tapes, the father and son Karlíková in the SONO studio created the maximum transfer of the original sound to its present form, the vinyl was engraved in a lacquer matrix and weighed 180 grams. A special chapter is the cover, adapted by graphic designer Karel Haloun from his own thirty-five-year-old design. On the inner bag of the LP and in the booklet of the CD you will find a complete set of song lyrics, a photo of the band and a contemporary sleevenote by Jiří Černý, but also the original design of the title, once rejected by the censors and later offering a changed order of the songs. The third album is a reminder of the changing line-up but enduring quality of ETC., always fairly more than just Misik's backing band.
