Moneyball - Blu-ray

The film Moneyball is based on the true story of Billy Bean (Brad Pitt) - a former promising baseball player with dazzling career prospects, who, after failing to meet promising expectations, preferred to focus on the administrative side of the sport due to his competitive nature. At the start of the 2002 season, Billy finds himself in a tricky situation: his poorly funded Oakland Athletics team, also popularly known as A' s, lost his best players (again) who were lured by big teams (and the associated considerable salaries) and he is forced to put his team in order again and start the season with a third of the original budget.

In his desire for victory, Billy decides to go against the classic habits of baseball. He will focus entirely off baseball fields on the unrecognized theories of Billy James and hire Peter Brand (Jonah Hill), an intelligent economist who graduated from Yale University. Together, they will stand up to common sense, armed with a determination to rethink everything and equipped with computer statistical analysis, which the baseball administration has long ignored. They come to incredible conclusions and start hiring players who the rest of the baseball world considers too inappropriate, too old, too sick, or too problematic, but who are all very underappreciated.

As Billy and Peter tirelessly push forward, their new methods and remarkable line-up of outsiders attract the attention of other teams, the media, fans and the lead manager of their own team (Philip Seymour Hoffman), who refuses to cooperate. But in the end, this experiment leads not only to changes in the way baseball is played, but also to a result that will definitely open Billy' s eyes and take him to a whole new level.
