Alfred Perkins seemingly has it all. Money, a mistress, and above all, a successful business with which he travels around Europe at the close of the nineteenth century. One day, he is visited by an old acquaintance, Leopold Higgs, who suggests they settle in Bohemia together and establish an amusement park. Almost one hundred and thirty years later, history doctor Benedikt Knesl arrives at the site of the former amusement park with his intern, Klára, to assist the police with an unusual case.
