Detective Madison Harper is looking forward to Thanksgiving, which she will finally celebrate with her son after years spent in prison. But neither she nor the town of Lost Creek are allowed a peaceful holiday. Terri Summers, a carer from the local home for the elderly, is found dead in her house on the edge of town. She was a kind woman who lived her life and didn't interfere in anything, so why would anyone hurt her? Madison has very few clues, and a sudden death on the police team brings even more confusion to the investigation.
Nate Monroe also has his hands full. He has decided to investigate a cold case whose shadow has loomed over Lost Creek for six years – the disappearance of the wife and grandson of Vince Rader, the owner of the local bistro. Will Nate solve the mystery and find the answers Vince has been longing for for so long?
