Murderous Mass

The Provincial Assembly meets in Kutná Hora. At the beginning, a mass is held in St. James' Cathedral, during which John of Hradec is unexpectedly murdered. No one knows who did it, only at the end of the mass do the people around the kneeling nobleman discover that someone has stabbed him with a dagger. On the same day, the dead body of another participant of the Diet, Markwart of Riesenburg, is found in one of the inns in Kutná Hora. The strangest thing, however, is the discovery that shortly before they were murdered, the two dead men had bequeathed all their property in their wills to a certain Brotherhood of St. Joseph the Shepherd.
