The hilarious tale of the hermit Pantalon, who eventually became a conjurer, is an original adaptation of a story the author found in a medieval collection of Byzantine legends and moral histories. The sequel was filmed by Markéta Jahodová and stars Jan Št'astný, Karel Pospíšil, Bořivoj Navrátil, Jaromír Meduna and others.
