Nagano 1998

Ice hockey had its Tournament of the Century at the 1998 Nagano Olympics.

Czech hockey players fulfilled their dream and made history.

And the vast majority of the nation will never forget the moments of happiness and pride in their native land.

It's a wonderful story of sportsmanship, the luck our players had, and the confidence combined with humility.

Twenty-three years on, but as if it took place yesterday, it is told by the players who played a part in this extraordinary triumph: goalie Dominik Hašek, defenseman Jiří Šlégr and forward Martin Procházka. They are complemented by the two living members of the coaching triumvirate Slavomír Lener and Vladimír Martinec - and all five also remember Ivan Hlinka.

And finally, there are interviews with two more hockey legends: The player's one is represented by forward Jiří Holík, who was just a step away from Olympic gold, and the radio one by Aleš Procházka, whose voice is familiar to all those who have fallen under the spell of this wonderful sport in the past decades.
