ALEŠ NOVOTNÝ was born in Valtice, South Moravia. He graduated from the Secondary School for Booksellers and Publishers in Brno and later also studied geology at Masaryk University. He has been writing since he was thirteen and wrote his first "book" a year later. At the time, it was a fantasy story for children. Today, however, his favourite films are crime, horror and thrillers. He is a big fan of Gillian Flynn, Anthony Horowitz, R. L. Stina and J. K. Rowling. He debuted with the young adult thriller Remember Death (Yoli, 2019). Rumours is his second novel.
