Novák Petr: Golden Collection (3x CD) - CD

In the month of his late seventies, a compilation of Petr Novák' s hits is published! From legendary amateur beginnings through a major big-beat era around 1968 to the subsequent original poprock, it' s a set of more than sixty songs. A singer with a big heart and a dramatic life destiny is not one of those who will captivate you with his refined singing technique or the poetic depth of the lyrics, but above all the complete devotion to the mission of those tones and words. Love in all its forms regularly prevailed in them, often not directly happy in the first place.

This new 3album brings the most important of Novák' s successful career with the bands Flamengo and George & Beatovens, also later solo. This is an offer from the first I will walk on tiptoes, Tell or Tombstone through the chanson clown confession or Room no. 26, but also Esther, Children' s Eyes, Prayer for Love or the chorus Star Glittering up to selected samples from composed albums. He could - as the majority author of the music - rely on the lyrics of his friend Ivo Plicka and later Zdeněk Rytíř, Eduard Krečmar or Pavel Vrba. Jan Farmer Obermayer and others offered him interesting music.

What could Petr Novák sing if he could fill the measured fifty-two seasons of his life with the creative energy and freedom of the second half of the 1960s? What could he accomplish after completing perfect professional self-discipline? On the other hand, his bohemianism and expressive recitation helped to sometimes classify seemingly ordinary melodies and simple rhymes as unforgettable songs. That' s also why his songs will definitely not get bored even when the sound is archaically ancient. Petr Novák is a character in a completely unique, inherently inimitable category.

Essential listening for all fans of Czech popular music!
