OK Band: Disco! (2x CD) - CD

Album DISCO! closed the first chapter in the history of the OK Band in the spring of 1985, ending a three-year journey from new wave progressivism to techno pop. With some exaggeration, it could be called the path from the Žižkov wall to the UFO above the pond. All recordings are authentic, nothing has been remixed or otherwise significantly modernized in terms of sound. It is the taste of time, its sound and aesthetics. This is a complete collection of the original gramophone production of OK Band from 1982-85.

The first disc brings the original album DISCO! never released on CD. The second six singles of the OK Band, which preceded the release of their debut album, are included on the second disc. They are complemented by the song “Memories of the Final Victory“, which appeared only on the period compilation “Planet of the People“ - of course also only on vinyl.

The second disc is complemented by recordings of the Soap and Stratos formations, side projects of OK Band members. Soap was established with the first Czech cover version of the monstrous hit of the recession band Trio “Da Da Da“, but also with its own period hits “After the Night“ and “Diet“.

In addition to the picturesque comic Soap, Stratos presented ephemeral electronic experiments, perhaps remotely - musically and philosophically - flirting with the early Zurich Yello. Soap is represented on this set by its two singles, Stratos the only one. The set is closed with the Stratos instrumental “Silver from the Stars“, a title never released on music.
