Old Men on Hops - DVD

"The story you're about to see
and what starts out so strangely,
that your child could have experienced,
whether the family wants it or not.

Your child can experience it
and not just on hops
and if you think about it,
has achieved its purpose. ”

This is the beginning of a Czech musical that needs no introduction. A love story, that was created to the consternation of the neighborhood at the hop brigade, is one of our favourite films because of the great songs, sung by Karel Gott, Josef Zima, Jan Petru, Karel Štědrý and Jana Malknechtová.

The charming student Hanka becomes the focus of interest of the boastful prime minister Honza and the honest and principled, though somewhat more peculiar Filip. However, the romance in the attic of the school where the students are accommodated ends with the insensitive intervention of the pedagogical supervision.
