Oldřich Knitl: Life on the edge

Mr and Mrs Fafka have no illusions about their only son. Káj is twenty years old and hasn't yet figured out what he wants to do in life. Nothing interests him except writing poetry, his friends and the ladies. The Fafkas are both lawyers, yet they are quite surprised when Karel one day, without warning, brings a married girlfriend six years his senior, whom he wants to marry. But sometimes life is above all paragraphs? The third radio play by scriptwriter and playwright Oldřich Knitl is a lively comedy that takes advantage of the rewarding issue of family and intergenerational relationships. She deftly works with the listener's expectations and manages to develop the initial plot without slipping into sentimentality and banality. The great strength of the play is its funny situations and dialogues, in which the ironic parent-guardians have the upper hand. Persons and cast: JUDr. Věra Fafková (Jana Hlaváčová), Anděla (Hana Maciuchová), Kája (Oldřich Kaiser), JUDr. Ales Fafka (Jiri Adamira), Adam (Miroslav Moravec).
