Oliver Sim: Hideous Bastard Ltd Clr

LP Record Oliver Sim didn't actually want to follow in the footsteps of his bandmates from The xx, Romy Madley Croft and Jamie Smith, and start a solo project. He didn't think he had the courage for it either. However, while working on the track "Romance with a Memory" with Jamie xx, he was told: "I think you should make a full-length record." And so he decided to make it happen. This marked the beginning of the long and arduous birth of "Hideous Bastard", Oliver Sim's solo debut album, which will be released on Young. "I spent almost three years asking myself questions and searching for answers while writing," Sim describes the album's creation process. The revelation of his HIV status haunts the record thematically, just as it has always overshadowed his life.
