Book of the popular detective series from Nazi Germany with Gereon Rath
Berlin, summer 1936
Amidst the general Olympic excitement, Gereon Rath must go undercover to investigate a murder in the Olympic Village. Germany's rulers fear the games are being sabotaged by the Communists. Rath has his doubts about that and does his job rather apathetically, especially when he has his own problems: is hosting American tourists and his wife Charly has left the house in protest. Then, in the Olympic Village, he runs into a colleague with a communist past who was also at the scene.
While the suspect is subjected to brutal interrogations by the SS, a second murder occurs. Rath is frantically searching to prevent another death, unaware that his own death sentence has already been handed down.
