On the Cutting Edge of Argument

The book On the Edge of the Argument is a new translation of the most significant essays on the spiritual life and attitudes of the writer, poet, and philosopher G. K. Chesterton. G. K. Chesterton is considered one of the greatest writers and philosophers of the early 20th century. In addition to detective stories featuring the eccentric priest Father Brown, he wrote the first philosophical thriller, several exceptional biographies, fantasy stories from alternative histories, as well as poems that are still considered unsurpassed.

Furthermore, he was a man who inspired and enthused exceptional people such as Mahatma Gandhi, Jorge Luis Borges, and C. S. Lewis. Karel Čapek was also a great admirer of his. Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett dedicated the book "Good Omens" to him with the words: "To the man who knew what was really going on in the world." Today, with a few exceptions, Chesterton is unfairly forgotten, and our effort was to publish his essays in which he discusses his philosophy and attitudes on issues that are still relevant today. The book is a new translation of his most important essays on the theme of spiritual life, attitudes, and relationships. As one of Chesterton's critics once put it: "Chesterton shows us the way in a world to which we both belong and do not belong, and his work is a guide to life."
