On Ullr's threshold

On the Nordic islands, a gateway is opening to a world that knows only frost and death…

24 February 1941. Eight months have passed since Norway’s capitulation, and Great Britain is preparing to remind the Third Reich that its rule over the Scandinavian kingdom is not absolute. The target of the operation is the Lofoten archipelago, and it is to be carried out by new special units: the Commandos.

During the operation's preparation, however, a report emerges about a missing German train full of soldiers. It entered a mountain tunnel and never came out the other side. What’s more, the track, built by the Nazis, leads from a heavily guarded base that no one has been able to get near. When the resistance manages to deliver photographs, a single glance at the runic inscriptions above the tunnel is all it takes for Admiral Keyes to know who to entrust with the mission.

Immediately upon arriving in Lofoten, Major Crossland’s team discovers that the situation is far more serious than it seemed. Entire families are disappearing from the islands, locals whisper fearfully of bloodthirsty monsters, and the trail leads to a sanatorium whose administrators wear badges on their lapels bearing the face of the goddess Hel…
