Overview of psychological development disorders

The current primary school teacher does not only encounter „ normality“, but quite naturally also with „ abnormality“. If he is to orient himself in interpersonal relationships, to understand children and their parents, he should gain insight into the broader context, be able to communicate not only within the framework of psychological normality, but also be able to behave correctly in the case of pathology. Educators address the different types of learning difficulties that may arise in the context of so-called integration. With the introduction, they encounter pupils who have learning difficulties for a variety of reasons. This book should be a valuable tool for them in just such situations.

As the authors themselves state, their aim was not to present an exhaustive description of the whole range of psychological difficulties, but rather to provide (either future or current teachers) with a basic orientation in the selected psychological area. They focused on the topics and issues that seemed to them to be most prevalent in the helping professions, especially in the teaching profession operating at all types and levels of education. They link theoretical background and existing knowledge on selected topics with research on specific cases.

The aim was to inform about topics whose knowledge helps teachers to better understand the child's problem and thus help them to improve their pedagogical activities and orientation in the given issue.
