OZW: Nevergreeny + EP bonus - CD

In 1996 OZW decided to release their first two CDs and gave it the name Nevergreens. The album, with its rough, raspy sound, is a good illustration of the sound the band has terrorized its listeners with throughout its sixteen years of existence. There are 18 completely exhausting tracks full of black humour and absurd images, morbid and sometimes even ridiculous stories, completely in the OZW vein. In the last line-up we can find, besides the obligatory leader Zdenek Lorenz, other well-known figures of the domestic scene (Slávek Simon - MCH Band, Igor Mráz - Bad Beef Hat). A very important figure for OZW is playing as an UNNECESSARY guest - a long-time member of the ensemble who defines its rich metal sound, guitarist Pavel Marášek. This sound, which he implants into OZW in any lineup, along with the jelly-like masks of the swaying figures, make up the band's unmistakable image. The rhythm is provided by Mirek and Milan Fibigerové. At Nevergreen the band is already playing in new masks called "beekeeper" - see the cover. The title of the ensemble comes from a short story by Ivan Vyskočil, in which one could slip through the pocket of Uncle Zbyndas's winter coat into a more joyful reality - but there was no possibility of return.

Panton label also released OZW as the tenth and last EP in 1990 as part of the Rock Debut edition. It contained five songs that we were able to pin behind Nevergreens as part of their re-release (2016). And to make it complete, there's one last song added, Bych, which has a different mix for TV use for the music video. The re-release brings a total of 24 tracks compared to the original 18 and comes with a CD text.

Year of reissue: 2022
