Pavlicek Michal: Faces (4xCD) - CD

The Faces set is an extensive selection of rock and pop songs and presents Michal Pavlicek as an author and guitarist with an unmistakable signature. Two of the parts are devoted to the Prague Selection and Stromboli and two to his solo work and his songs for BSP, Monika Načeva, Zuzana Michnova, Big Heads, Trio and the Na Kloboučku cycle. Michal Pavlíček has managed to combine sung and instrumental compositions and studio and live recordings in a clear way on this compilation. Some of the tracks are being released in their current form for the first time.

Michal Pavlicek is or was active in the bands Pražský výběr, Stromboli, Big Heads, BSP, Trio and Supergroup. As an author and performer he has participated in albums of many artists (Koubková, Michna, Naceva, Basik, Shearling, Müller ad. ). He is the author of countless compositions, music for 17 feature films (Why?, Leaving, Will Jesus Come This Year? ad. ), to 12 TV series (Red Hippo, Instead of upstairs, Homeward bound, Starlings in the web of time, Merlin ad. ) and 35 television productions (Ambush, Daddy's Little Girl, Divnovlasky, etc. ). He wrote 4 musicals (Clown, Excalibur, Picture of Dorian Gray, Lady with camellias), 6 ballets (Minotaurus, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Prince ad. ), music for 25 theatre performances (Cyrano of Bergerac - Celetná Theatre, Cherry Orchard - Vinohrady Theatre, Marat + Sade - Rokoko Theatre, etc. ) and for Laterna Magika, incidental music for the performances Minotaurus, Riddles and Robot Radius. He has released over 70 CDs and DVDs. He has received many awards and several golden plates, e.g. the Andel Music Awards. In 2016, he was inducted into the Academy of Pop Music Hall of Fame. His autobiographical book, The Distant Lands, was published in 2008 and an expanded edition in 2016. According to a poll of viewers of the Óčko Star television station and readers of iDnes, his song with lyrics by Ivan Hlas, Země vzdálená (Distant Land), became the biggest Czech post-revolutionary hit. He was the actor and co-creator of 123 episodes of the musical cycle Na Kloboučku and many other musical projects.
