Pelíšky DVD (remastered version) - DVD

Stories of one historical generation - aging parents, teens and young children. The plot is set in the late sixties - autumn 67 to summer 68 with a short epilogue dating back to the seventies. Prague ' s Hanspaulka residential district, subtle poetics and humorous exaggeration are characteristic of the mosaic narrative of the parallel life destinies of three generations of men and women in a special period of our history in 1968.
At the end of the 1960s, two families lived in one of the Košice villages - a family of four of Major Šebek and a family of three of the former resistance fighter and staunch opposition Kraus. But they are only seemingly different. Both suffer under a screaming patriarchy, both rely on the kindness and understanding of mothers, and both face the difficult period of puberty in adolescent children. Michal Šebek loves his beautiful neighbor Jindřiška Krausová, who, however, clearly prefers Elien from the class. Krausová' s mother' s sister, teacher Eva, who tries to find her son Péť, a new father, also intervenes in the consistently intimate story of the two families. Generational quarrels and family quarrels, however, in August 1968 were also fatally marked by politics.
Petr Jarchovský' s excellent screenplay, great cast and direction are a guarantee of a quality film experience.
