Pepson: Midnight Message - CD

Musician and writer Josef 'Pepson' Snětivý says of his debut solo album: “From the songs I have written over the last fourteen years, I chose those which I was convinced could carry a simple and transparent form—vocals accompanied by piano, occasionally enhanced by the sound of a saxophone or clarinet—thanks to their lyrics and melodies. However, new ideas emerged during the recording process, so you will hear not only the aforementioned instruments but also keyboards, flute, harmonica, and tambourine. The final effect in some songs is comparable to a full band recording. Still, I stuck to my original intention: that I would record and sing everything myself, that I would imprint all my emotions and my true self into the notes and words, and that, despite adding musical layers, I would try to create an album that is simple and pure in the best sense of the word. How well I have succeeded, I leave to the kind audience to judge for themselves.”
