Phenomenological reductions and education
The main theme of the monograph is to look at the possibilities that Husserl's phenomenology offers for anamnesis of the nature of education in the situation of its embedding in managerial and planning structures. If we are not aware of the difference between education in its essence and education as a process, we have perhaps the so-called. effective education and schooling processes, but no education and no school. But it is precisely on the discovery of the essence of education as bringing man to the consciousness of essence that Europe is founded as the specific ground of meaning and the birth of meaning. < br> We live in a situation that could be characterized as one of mathematization and collapse of meaning, in which all the living and lived pulses of our existence are subsumed into pre-established idealized structures. What transformation of our relationship to the world and to ourselves in the world is behind this collapse? Does not this collapse of meaning also threaten to collapse the universitas of sciences and the university itself, transformed into a mere managerial operation, as we are involuntarily witnessing today? And is it still possible to revive the desire for the being-knowledge, of which Plato and Aristotle speak, in the situation of this collapse, if we remember that in the tradition desire as Plato's eros was determined precisely as the transcendence of meaning, i.e. precisely as the unification of meaning? The sciences themselves, in an effort to prolong the project of knowledge as an instrument of man's control over nature, also turn man into an idealized object of research and control and domination. But, as Husserl constantly emphasizes, man is not only an object in the world, but also a subject for the world. Husserl's phenomenology, in its investigation of the constitution of meaning, is fraught with the problems mentioned above. And when it comes to the serious problems of our being and non-being, it is an important attempt for our 'here and now' to ask meaningfully about the existential foundations of our humanity.
