In this now classic novel, the Zone - an area full of mystery and mysterious phenomena left behind by the alien Visitor - plays a central role. In the Zone, danger can come from anywhere and every step can mean death. Yet, night after night, stalkers, illegal seekers of alien artifacts, risk their lives to retrieve miraculous treasures that do not come from our world. The tax the Zone levies is high.
