Project descendant
He's not your average man. His problems are unique and he solves them even more uniquely...
They've been married ten months and ten days, so having a baby probably wouldn't be such a big deal. But their parenting, by some erratic coincidence, began in a completely different way than if genetics professor Don Tillman had methodically thought it through, even considering that they are now half of a couple. Moreover, in New York, where the newlyweds have moved to do research at Columbia University, Rosie's pregnancy is very adventurous without the support of her Australian relatives. The father-to-be has once again thrown himself into the new project with all his might, which, given his disorder, gives the impression of one folly after another. And it's not just about clinging to the commandments of pregnancy or the diagrams on the bathroom tiles, on which he drew the course of the "other state" with his own consistency.
As an extremely gullible person, Don always responds with 100% honesty because he cannot use subtlety, humour or tact. Even his empathy has been given only a trace amount, but he has an unprecedented potential to improve. The happiness of a sympathetic Asperger with an exceptional IQ is that he never does anything by halves, believes in love more fervently than most of us and would do anything in its name. Even if it means being arrested for watching toddlers on the playground, the psychotherapy he is then forced to attend, or suspected terrorism when the crisis escalates. Because if there is even a theoretical hope that the unfavourable fate can be reversed, he heroically uses it. He knows aikido!
Imagine Sheldon Cooper reaching for a ruler while cutting up cubes of vegetables for a pregnant woman. The story, which follows the science fiction comedy The Wife Project, which has delighted readers and listeners around the world, depicts the life situation of a father-to-be with autism spectrum disorder not only with an emphasis on the comical things he causes around him, but above all with the kindness necessary for mutual understanding.

They wrote about the book:
When we meet someone who is completely different from us, we tend to consider them inferior, even though we would never admit it to ourselves. Graeme's Don Tillman shows us that the inability to express emotion does not mean that the person is not experiencing emotion. And in The Descendant Project, the author has managed to go even deeper: everyone who has ever prepared for the role of parent has asked themselves similar questions to his: Am I doing this right? What if I hurt the baby? This is not mentioned in the pregnancy manuals. These fears torment us all, but thanks to Don, we don't feel so confused. And thanks to a bizarre plot directed by him, we can even - and must! - a hearty laugh."

Simsion's characters are so vivid, his storytelling so imaginative! As in Project Wife, the hero's groping in the tribal customs of the majority population is fresh and uplifting.

Graeme C. Simsion
The Australian author, born in Auckland, New Zealand, like Nick Hornby, has revived the interest of today's men in quality fiction on the subject of partner relationships. For the technocrat, who initially profiled himself in the fields of IT and economics, Professor Tillman's first book of escapades on the battlefield of love was also his literary debut. A sequel to the comedy The Wife Project (2013), which was published in 40 countries with a cumulative print run of nearly four million copies and was Australia's Book of the Year, The Rosie Effect (2014, no. 2015) and The Rosie Result (Engl. 2019). Simsion plays a musical note in the romance Echoes of My Loves (2016, no. 2017). In the book A Few Steps Forward (2017, no. 2018), which he created with his wife Anne Buist, with a kind humour, empathises with the modern pilgrims to Santiago de Compostela based on his own experiences, as they have already walked the famous purification journey of St James twice together.
