Promising prospects

Charles Dickens: Promising prospects. Orphan Pip, who is being raised by his sister and her blacksmith husband, is one day confronted with a fateful coincidence. He meets an escaped convict, is offered the opportunity to visit a wealthy house inhabited by the half-mad Miss Havisham and her ward Estella, and one day his life changes completely: An unknown benefactor offers him financial support for his studies in London.
