Quality of life for the elderly

The publication presents an up-to-date view of the quality of life of the elderly in homes for the elderly in the Czech Republic, which emphasizes the bio-psycho-social and spiritual determinants of the quality of life of the elderly. The book deals with the theoretical background related to the issue of ageing and old age, the concept of active ageing, the needs of the elderly and the possibilities of their fulfilment. It also presents an overview of the current system of social care provided to the elderly in the Czech Republic as well as specific findings from research on the quality of life of the elderly in homes for the elderly and presents recommendations for practice resulting from this research.
