Raw shape
When something breaks, it just takes on a different shape, the neighbour on the right likes to say. But does this also apply when it's not about old cups or plates, but about the whole community? The story of an unnamed village, which could lie anywhere as far as it is typical, is somewhat confusing from the beginning. Everything here is somehow familiar, a bunch of misguided youths, who out of boredom shoots an air rifle at passing cars or rides her bike around the village square, of neighborhood rowdiness in the village, where everyone can see beyond the plate, but also to bed, pub, where the regulars sit and talk about the state of the world, you'd hear in any country pub. But underneath the layer of individual episodes, perfectly observed from "village life", strange, disturbing elements slowly seep in, disturbing the image of a perfectly ordinary village. And so while people wait for Egon during the endless hot summer, the only person in the village, who has made it somewhere and brings them news year after year from the far away world out there, the atmosphere slowly thickens and threatens, that the future, that's coming up, will have a different shape from today, and quite possibly a lot cruder. < br> < br> The publication of the book was supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.
