Renaissance and Mannerist stucco in Moravia
The book comprehensively deals with the phenomenon of Renaissance and Mannerist stucco in Bohemia and Moravia. The monuments that can be included in this group were created approximately between 1150 and 1620. A detailed topographical research mapped relevant stuccoes preserved in the territory of the present-day Czech Republic, given the legislative possibilities. However, the individual articles/chapters are not bound by this territory; Central European and Italian analogies are outlined both in the introductory synthesizing part and in the entries of the selection catalogue, which are conceived as autonomous articles presenting the most significant localities. The research was conducted in an interdisciplinary manner, in collaboration with art historians, restorers and technologists. The acquired knowledge is presented comprehensively in individual texts. The extensive publication has a strong foundation in the field of monument preservation; in addition to the professional public (including foreign researchers), it will also be appreciated by the wider public due to its extensive pictorial appendix and exclusive graphic design.
