Revenant: The Resurrection (book edition) - DVD

American West, South Dakota, 1823. Place and time with much relative value of human life. Experienced hunter and trapper Hugh Glass ( Leonardo DiCaprio ) is on a trip with fur hunters with his son. In the middle of deep forests, they resist the unexpected attacks of the Indians and have to overcome a ruthless, as yet uncharted landscape full of traps on their pilgrimage. Glass' s fatal encounter with an enraged female grizzly bear becomes fatal. The bear attack survives, but is severely wounded and the hunting expedition must split up.

While most hunters continue on their journey, only two men remain with Glass and his son, John Fitzgerald ( Tom Hardy ) and Jim Bridger ( Will Poulter ). They more or less just wait for him to die, so that they can then bury him and continue his journey. But the wounded hunter is still not dying, so Fitzgerald decides to shorten the wait for the inevitable. However, while trying to involuntarily euthanize, he is caught by Glass' s son, whom Fitzgerald kills. He then buryes the still-living Glass in the grave and disappears with Bridger.

But Hugh has a very hard root. In a completely impoverished state, he climbs out of his own grave, desperately wandering through a charming but completely indifferent landscape. Hate and a desire for revenge keep him alive. He must overcome the brutal winter and famine, the wild rivers, the warring Native American tribes, and complete his revenge .
