Rio - DVD

Rio tells the story of a rare macaw named Blu, who lives in a small town with his owner, Linda. The two are inseparable. Years ago, Linda rescued him from smugglers who had snatched him as a baby from the middle of the Brazilian rainforest and taken him to snowy Minnesota. Although this means Blu never learned to fly, he has made himself so at home in the safety and comfort of Linda's house that he has no trouble making coffee, preparing breakfast, brushing his teeth, or acting as Linda's personal alarm clock.
When Linda and Blu one day discover that Blu isn't the last macaw of his kind in the world, as they had always thought, they don't hesitate to set off for exotic Brazil to find Jewel, a female macaw living in the heart of Rio de Janeiro. Shortly after they meet, however, Blu and Jewel are kidnapped by a group of animal traffickers. With the help of the clever and street-smart Jewel and a group of chatty city birds, they manage to escape, but they are far from safe.
Can Blu, with the help of his new friends, find the courage to learn to fly, thwart the plans of the kidnappers who are still on their tail, and return to his beloved owner, Linda?
