Composer Pavel Bertl can't control himself. He plays cards at night and indulges in alcohol. Within a few years he had already squandered all the family savings. His wife Helena is devastated by this cohabitation, so the lawyer Werner steps in and recommends a divorce. However, she still loves her husband and disagrees with his idea. Werner therefore convinces Paul to pretend to have a mistress. The girl Helena met at the pawnshop is supposed to be the one she is pretending to be. The two alleged lovers are sent to the mountains, where the official Špargl goes with them to take pictures of the couple in a compromising situation. But it's not that simple.
